Position Overview

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. This role involves developing and implementing effective policies and procedures, managing inventory levels, and making strategic decisions based on data analysis to optimize daily operations. The General Manager will also manage the warehouse budget, maintain equipment, and liaise with other departments and external suppliers/vendors.

Job Responsibilities

  •   Daily Operations Oversight: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that workflows are optimized and that operational standards are met.
  • Staff Management: Direct, supervise, and manage warehouse staff, fostering a productive and efficient work environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that the warehouse complies with all safety regulations and that staff are educated on necessary safety protocols.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and uphold warehouse policies and procedures to streamline operations and maintain standards.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee and manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels are maintained adequately, and inventory is properly organized.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Analyze operational data and make strategic decisions to improve warehouse efficiency and performance.
  • Budget Management: Manage the warehouse budget, ensuring that expenses are within allocated limits and operations remain cost-effective.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that warehouse equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and fully operational.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments within the company to ensure coordination and cooperation.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that warehouse operations meet customer expectations and standards, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Supply Chain and Vendor/Supplier Relationships: Manage and maintain healthy relationships with vendors/suppliers, and oversee supply chain processes to ensure operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed strategic decisions.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
